The Image and Print Studio is geared to meet the archival print needs of local professional photographers, artists, and designers in southeastern Minnesota. Our wide format color printer produces the highest quality fine art prints in the industry utilizing Epson’s UltraChrome HDR pigment inks, and a variety of archival substrates.
Pigment inks better resist damage from light, moisture, air pollutants, and temperature. The 11 ink system extends the printer’s tonal range, to produce a richer color gamut and achieve a higher maximum density (Dmax) in a print.
Archival inkjet printing, known as Gicleé prints, is our specialty. There is no single paper that suits all printing conditions and all subjects. The “right” media for a print depends on: the image, the scene, its specific subject, intended use of the print, the presentation, color or black-and-white, and personal taste. We offer a variety of substrates from 100% cotton rag to more modestly priced photo paper. Selections include papers and canvas from Hahnemühle, Moab, Red River, and Epson.
In addition, the company is dedicated to offer state-of-the-art flatbed scanning services for professional 2 dimensional artists. Our high performance 2400 x 4800 dpi resolution, plus 3.8 Dmax and 48-bit color, large-format accurately scans for remarkable precision, including excellent shadow details.
